When you are ready to add a bibliography, place your cursor where the bibliography should appear.

Repeat these steps until you have added all desired citations to your paper.

In the Insert/Edit Citation window that appears, select the reference you wish to cite, and click OK.

In the Write-N-Cite tab/toolbar, click Insert Citation and Insert New. Place the cursor in the exact location in which you would like to add a citation.

Select the citation style you wish to use from the Style drop-down menu.

Paste the institution credentials code (see image above) into the Login Code field.

In the Write-N-Cite/ProQuest tab/toolbar, log in with your RefWorks username and password.

Click Enable Microsoft Word 2010 Write-N-Cite Plugin.

Enable the Write-N-Cite (or ProQuest Write-N-Cite) add-in.Īctivate Write-N-Cite on a VDI (Rush thin client) computer or via In the Word Options window, click Add-Ins in the left-hand menu. In Microsoft 2010, click the File tab, and select Options near the bottom of the left-hand column. If, after installing Write-N-Cite, the Refworks tab or toolbar (labeled Proquest in new versions of Write-n-Cite) does not appear in Microsoft Word, you need to enable add-ins. RefWorks appears as a floating toolbar on Mac computers.

Once installed, the RefWorks tab (labeled ProQuest in newer versions of Write-N-Cite) will appear in your MS Word toolbar.

Copy the institution credentials code, which you will need the first time you log in. In the pop-up window, select the appropriate download for your computer.

To download Write-N-Cite, select Write-N-Cite from the Tools menu.
